Description

formed as an ogee arch, the repoussé and chased triptych frame rich with ornamentation in Art Nouveau taste, featuring scrollwork and stylised floral and foliate motifs, set with aquamarine, topaz, garnet, amethyst and ruby faceted and cabochon stones, the central icon depicting the Mandylion, the left panel depicting St Nicholas the Wonderworker in full length, the right panel depicting St Alexandra in full length, each icon with a descriptive Cyrillic inscription in gold lettering, on flattened and fluted circular feet, the hinges terminating in complementary twisted ball motifs, struck with K. Fabergé in Cyrillic beneath the Imperial Warrant, 84 standard, scratched inventory number 7619
