Description

NIKE, NIKE SB DUNK LOW PRO, SIZE 9

Rubber, Leather, Cotton, Synthetic

2009

This Nike SB Dunk Low sample, known as the 'OFF! Bug Spray’, never saw a public release. The name is a nod to the bug-repellent brand OFF! due to the colors of its logo closely matching the Radiant Green and Deep Orange hues used on the shoe's sample. This creation aligns with the 2008 Nike SB trend, where designs drew inspiration from everyday products like the 7-11 Big Gulp, Shoe Goo, Newcastle Ale, and Gibson guitars.

Produced in extremely limited quantities, sneaker blogs also suggest that this pair may have been a prototype or intended to accompany the Nike SB Mosquito, a shoe released to the public in 2008.

The Nike SB Dunk made its formal debut in 2002 when Nike officially reworked the famed Dunk basketball sneaker originally designed in the 1980s with upgrades suited for the skateboarding community. The man behind it, former Nike executive Sandy Bodecker, is credited with building one of Nike’s most beloved subdivisions in the early 2000s with the Nike SB line.

What sets Nike SB apart from other competitive brands is the unbridled creativity, collaborators, materials, and whimsical highly thematic designs that define a generation of sneakerheads. Nike has explored hundreds of concepts – often with a sense of humor – through its Nike Dunks. From designs that range from beer bottles to guitar cases, to horror films, jewelry, animals, arts and cities – the Dunks represent some of the most beloved and creative models for the brand.
