The crisp decoration of sanduo, the 'Three Abundances' including peaches, pomegranates and lychees, on this Longquan jar is particularly striking. The four-character kaishu inscription reads qingxiang meijiu, which literally translates as 'fresh and fragrant fine wine', indicating the use of the jar.

A closely related Ming dynasty Longquan jar in the collection of the National Palace Museum, Taipei is illustrated in Green-Longquan Celadon of the Ming Dynasty, Taipei, 2011, pl.127.
