Third edition of Rossello's compilation of alchemical and chemical recipes, the "secrets of nature", first published in 1559, aimed not just at practitioners of distillation and metallurgy but also gentlemen and women interested in hair dyes and perfume. It proved popular enough to warrant at least seven Italian editions in the space of three decades.
