Description

Bezel-set with a closed back table-cut diamond in an elaborate foliate mount with engraved decoration, size K¼, traces of enamel.

Accompanied by a facsimile Striptwist Ltd report.

Accompanied by a facsimile Striptwist Ltd report which observations and analysis conclude that there is reasonable grounds to have confidence in the ring being early 17th century. A surface analysis of the gold was carried which noted the absence of zinc and cadmium which are often found in more recent gold pieces. No elements were detected which cast doubt on the authenticity of the ring and the silver to copper ratio is consistent with a 17th century origin.
