William Aislabie (1700?-1781),

by descent to the present owner

The arms are those of Aislabie of Osgodby, Yorkshire impaling Vernon for William Aislabie (1700?-1781), of Studley Royal, who in 1745 married Elizabeth, daughter of Sir Charles Vernon of Farnham, Surrey. The crests and earl’s coronet are those of de Grey, either for Amabel Hume-Campbell, suo jure 1st Countess de Grey and 5th Baroness Lucas (1750-1833) or her successor, Thomas de Grey, 2nd Earl de Grey (1781-1859).
