Presented to Ringo Starr, engraved in appreciation of "The Beatles' Efforts on behalf of The Hemophilia Foundation of Southern California," at the "Meet The Beatles / Charity Garden Party / Brentwood, California / August 24, 1964"; wear to wooden plaque, scratches across gold plate, plate missing upper screws (secure). [With:] A B/W photograph of The Beatles holding the plaques.
On the afternoon of August 24, 1964, the Beatles attended a charity garden party hosted by Alan Livingston, the president of Capitol Records, in Brentwood. The party was a fundraiser for the Hemophilia Foundation of Southern California. Hollywood celebrities were charged $25 each to attend with their children. All in all, the event raised $10,000.
