Speckled contemporary calf with blocked geometric patterning, black morocco title labels, gilt, speckled edges; rebacked, covers somewhat rubbed.
The second — and most extensive — English-language edition of this important narrative of travel in the United States and Canada in the last decade of the eighteenth century, after the French first edition and the briefer English translation of the previous year.
