Dr. Richard Mead (1673-1754), London (according to an old inscription attached to the back of the frame: from Dr. Mead's Collection / esteemed one of the most capital Castigliones in England. The King has larger compositions, i.e. with many more figures but none better or more finished indeed I think none so good),
