The Rolex Daytona 16520 marks an important milestone for the Daytona series, making the change from a manual winding movement into an automatic movement. Based on the Zenith El Primero caliber, the reference 16520 incorporates the caliber 4030, which Rolex in fact made approximately 200 changes to the original movement, making it more reliable and durable. Some changes for example involves removing the date function and replacing it with a new escapement. The present example exhibits a handsome white dial, with a particular feature found at 6 o'clock displaying an upside down "6" at the hours register, hence nicknamed the "inverted 6". An indication of the earliest batch of reference 16520 produced, the present watch belongs to the X-series and makes an amazing addition to any watch collection.
