Description
A Dutch silver marriage beaker, Jan Heixan Snr., Dokkum, 1685
of tapering form on plain foot rim, the upper body engraved with standing figures in ovals within openwork foliate cartouches incorporating grotesque masks, with tied ribbons suspending a male coat of arms between the initials ES, a female lozenge of arms between GI and an oval cartouche with the date 1674

de forme évasée sur bâte unie, le corps gravé de personnages dans des médaillons ovales à l'intérieur de cartouches feuillagés à décor de masques grotesques, reliés par des rubans entourant deux blasons, un d'homme entre les initiales ES, un de femme dans un losange entre les lettres GI et un cartouche ovale avec la date 1674
