An illustration from a Bhagavata Purana: The battle of the gods, Nepal, circa 1775-1800

The current folio comes from a known Bhagavata Purana series from Nepal. Other leaves from the same series are in the Victoria and Albert Museum (IS.157-1964, IS.159-1964), the San Diego Museum of Art (see Binney 1968, pp.64-66 no.49) and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (see Pal 1985 no.P35a-b).
