Average age of vines 60 years, yield 22.5hl/ha. In 2022, at first the nose is quite tight-packed, battened down on itself, but so briary and old-vine concentrated - the description 'intellectual' comes to mind. Very marked structure on the palate, with a crunchy texture that is almost edible. There is an air of smoky mystery to this, taking you right to its heart in an unending finish. Ineffable - there really is no other word for it. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
