GERMAN SCHOOL, 1626

A SILVER LOCKET CONTAINING FOUR MINIATURES


comprising a gentleman, inscribed: ANN: MDCXXVI AETATIS SUAE XXVII, his wife, inscribed: ANNO MDCXXVI. AETATIS XXVIII, their son, inscribed: ANN: MDCXXVI AETATIS SUAE 2 1/2, and a grey horse with a tournament beyond, the latter signed lower right: M.P., the locket covers engraved with the coat of arms of the Geisendörfer and Ölhafen families, both dated 1626  

4.3 by 3.4 cm., 1½ by 1⅜ in.
