GOLD ELECTROPLATE ON STERLING | THE FRANKLIN MINT. Housed in a fitted blue box.
The Jefferson Awards were founded in 1972 by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Senator Robert Taft Jr., and Sam Beard, with the first awards being made the following year. The awards are given in a number of categories at both the local and national level. In 1994, Newman and Woodward were jointly recognized with the national Jefferson Award for Outstanding Public Service Benefiting the Disadvantaged.
