This Italian film was written and directed by Giuseppe Tornatore, and stars Jacques Perrin, Philippe Noiret, Leopoldo Trieste, Marco Leonardi, Agnese Nano and Salvatore Cascio. It is an enchanting story of a successful filmmaker who returns to the village he grew up in when the cinema's projectionist dies. Growing up the filmmaker found his love for films at his local cinema, where he spent every moment he could. Although the relationship between him and the projectionist is initially rocky, they develop a deep friendship, and the projectionist teaches him how to operate the film projector. The film's fantastic music score was composed by Ennio Morricone and his son, Andrea.
