Description
3.25 x 5 in. closed, 6.5 x 5 in. open.
Frank Sinatra’s custom beige and brown original snakeskin wallet, with his name embossed on the front in gold cursive lettering. With the Sulka, New York gold stamp on the inside.
Offered with letter of provenance from relative Frank Anthony Sinatra, stating that the custom wallet had been in his family's possession from the 1940s to 2008.
Nicknamed the "Chairman of the Board" and later called "Ol' Blue Eyes", Sinatra is regarded as one of the most popular entertainers of the mid-20th century. Sinatra is among the world's best-selling music artists, with an estimated 150 million record sales globally. In addition to his incredible, iconic, music career, Sinatra also had a highly successful career as a film actor. After winning the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for From Here to Eternity (1953), he starred in The Man with the Golden Arm (1955) and The Manchurian Candidate (1962). Sinatra also appeared in musicals such as On the Town (1949), Guys and Dolls (1955), High Society (1956), and Pal Joey (1957), which won him a Golden Globe Award.
Inside the wallet is a business card from Sammy Davis Jr.’s company, SYNI Corporation, on which Davis Jr. is titled “Chairman of the Board,” a humorous nod to Sinatra’s nickname and the pair’s longstanding friendship.
