Rolex

The Rolex 126610LV was introduced in 2020. It continues the tradition of the 6-digits reference Submariner models first launched in 2008 with the 116618LN/B. That generation is easy to recognize thanks to its contemporary proportions, with maxi case and maxi dial as well as the Cerachrom bezel. However, 2020 marked the end of the 40mm case diameter and the beginning of the 41mm era, further increasing the presence of the legendary model.

The 126610LV also carried on the lineage of the green bezel Submariner models. The first one was the Kermit, that was introduced in 2003 for the 50th anniversary of the Rolex diver's watch. That model was replaced by the Hulk in 2010, which was itself supplanted by the 126610LV.

The evolution of the diameter implied several modification to the design of the Submariner. The Super Case has thinner lugs compared to the previous model and the width between them is lager to reach a bracelet width of 21mm instead of the traditional 20mm.

That change provides make the watch more balanced, elegant and less squared or bulky.

The new Submariner also introduced a new movement, the Calibre 3235, replacing the 3135. It has a Chronergy escapement made of nickel-phosphorus and is not affected by magnetic fields. It also increases its efficiency by 15% and the power reserve has been pushed to achieve 70 hours.

This new model managed the perillous exercise to capture the soul of the Submariner and to combine it with the contemporary feel and technology.
