This is an exceptionally rare Saul Bass poster. It was designed and printed for Saul Bass's own personal use, and not for sale or cinema use. It is thought that only fifty were printed by Art Krebs Studio, Los Angeles, which was just around the corner from Bass's design studio. Bass gave a number of these posters to friends and colleagues, and also used them to enter graphic design competitions.

This American political drama was directed and produced by Otto Preminger, and is based on the book of the same name by Allen Drury, published in 1959, and which won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1960. The cast includes Henry Fonda, Charles Laughton, Don Murray, Walter Pidgeon, Peter Lawford, Gene Tierney, Franchot Tone, and Lew Ayres. Robert Leffingwell (Henry Fonda) is the President's nominee for the Secretary of State. However, before he can be approved he must go through a Senate investigation to establish if he is qualified. Will a secret from his past ruin his candidature, as well as the President's integrity?
