Unframed: 29 x 20 in. (74 x 51 cm)

This action-comedy was co-written and directed by Ossie Davis and was based on Chester Himes' novel of the same name. The cast includes Godfrey Cambridge, Raymond St. Jacques, and Redd Foxx. It tells the story of two Harlem detectives, who don't always follow the rules, as they investigate a cash robbery. The two cops think that the robbery has been engineered by the conman 'Reverend' Deke O'Maile, after a local fundraiser, in which he was selling shares for the purchase of a Back-to-Africa movement ship. The opening theme song 'Ain't Now But It's Gonna Be' was written by Ossie Davis and performed by Melba Moore.
