Panerai

The lore of Panerai is built around watches specially built for the Italian Frogmen of the ‘X Flottiglia Mas’. Those Panerai watches and depth gauges would be worn by frogmen who would ride on ‘Slow Speed Torpedos’ colloquially known as ‘Miales’ or ‘PIGs’ that would be steered underwater towards their targets before the frogmen would abandon ship and swim away. This is a 1/10th scale handmade model that was gifted to the most important Panerai retailers and boutiques – and was never made available for commercial sale. Incredibly rare and important to the brand history, it is no shock that Hammer would have one in his collection. Hammer’s example still retains its fitted presentation case as well as its certificate of Authenticity from Panerai.
