A teabowl and saucer from this service, with the same distinctive border pattern, was exhibited in 1999 at the Musée Ariana, Geneva, and subsequently sold from the collection of Max Hoffmann of Basel, at Christie's, London on 21 November 2005, lot 15.
Cranfield University used non-invasive X-ray fluorescence (XRF) for this lot to screen the green enamel for chromium, which was not detected, a result consistent with 18th century manufacture.
