Description

Tapering form, the base chased with fruit and masks, the body applied with a twisted wiry band and engraved with strapwork, swags of fruit, an inscription and two shields, one with the date 1642 and the other with a coat-of-arms.

The inscription reads 'Wilhem-Arjens Rivsz vnde *Dirck*Peters Older Lvden der Schilder Vnde Glasemakers Ampt in der Tjdt 1642 Berends Baltsers Ende Yacob Thomas Bysitters midt Vlijdt' which translates to 'Wilhem-Arjens Rivsz and Dirck Peters, elders in the guild of painters and glass-makers in the year 1642, Berends Baltsers and Yacob Thomas diligent co-members.'
