Although most tanzanite is a lovely shade of blue or blue-violet, color-variegated tanzanites that run from violet to yellow (such as this one) can be found in small pockets in the mines of the Merelani Hills. This gemmy, violet-yellow tanzanite crystal is translucent with a wonderfully glassy luster, sharp faces, and a nice, complex termination.
