Fine Amethyst Druze over Green Jasper Stalactites
Las Torres Mine, Artigas, Uruguay
14½ x 17¾ x 11 inches (36.8 x 45.1 x 27.9 cm). 45 pounds (20.4 kg) with custom wood and metal base.
A fine specimen fully covered with rich violet amethyst crystals, punctuated by naturalistic protrusions evoking the famous image of the "Pillars of Creation" taken by the Hubble Telescope. An archetypal example of Uruguayan amethyst with excellent color, shape, and coverage throughout the inside of the geode.
