A Treatise on Fish and Fish-Ponds. London: [W. Lewis] for J. Goodwin, no date [watermarked 1824]

4to (330 x 235 mm). 18 hand-colored etched plates by and after Eleazar, Elizabeth, and Fortin Albin, watermarked "Whatman 1824"; some minor soiling and smudging, occasional offsetting and spotting. Contemporary black morocco calf over marbled paper-covered boards, flat spine gilt-lettered and decoratively gilt, edges gilt; rubbed with some loss, joints starting.

The present plates were first engraved between 1735 and 1740, and first issued as "remainders" in 1794 to accompany Eleazar Albin’s History of Esculent Fish, along with the Treatise by Roger North, first published as A Discourse in 1713. This edition places North’s essay before the descriptions of the fish.
