Description de la Cuvée

L'Abbaye de Cîteaux joua un rôle pionnier dans la culture de la vigne en Bourgogne. Les archives font état d'une donation dès 1260 d'un vignoble de Pommard dénommé « En Espeneaul », qui s'écrit aujourd'hui « Epenots ». Rendant hommage à Cîteaux, cette Cuvée a été baptisée du nom du dernier cellérier de l'Abbaye, Dom Goblet, qui exerça jusqu'à la Révolution.

La parcelle est en bas du coteau sur une roche calcaire assez peu profonde. Ce Premier Cru figure parmi les plus réputés des 28 que comptent l'appellation Pommard. Cette Cuvée offre un vin tannique mais fin, robuste mais rond et de belle facture pour une longue garde.

Ce vin est splendide de par sa subtilité et sa finesse, offrant une complexité aromatique intense alliant profondeur et concentration. Les arômes s’ouvrent sur des notes de griottes et de fraises, enrichies de marjolaine, violette et feuilles de thé, dans une bouche élégante et parfaitement équilibrée. Sa longueur impressionnante, son harmonie et sa belle complexité font de ce Pommard Premier Cru Les Epenots un vin au potentiel de garde exceptionnel.

Cuvée description

The Abbey of Cîteaux played a pioneering role in the cultivation of vines in Burgundy. The archives mention a donation as early as 1260 of a vineyard in Pommard called ""En Espeneaul"", which today is written ""Epenots"". Paying homage to Cîteaux, this Cuvée was named after the last cellarer of the Abbey, Dom Goblet, who served until the Revolution.

The plot is at the bottom of the hillside on fairly shallow limestone. This Premier Cru is one of the most famous of the 28 that make up the Pommard appellation. This Cuvée offers a tannic but fine wine, robust but rounded and of good quality for long ageing.

This wine is glorious in its subtlety and finesse with layered, intense flavours combined with depth and concentration. Flavours range from dark cherries and strawberries to marjoram, violets and tea leaves. Impressive length, harmony and beautiful complexity mark this outstanding Pommard Premier Cru Les Epenots with excellent ageing potential.
