where acquired by the current owner.
This mirror frame was presumably made on the occasion of the marriage of Dirk Jan Roest van Alkemade with Elisabeth Aletta Maria Barchman Wuytiers (1691-1732), daughter of Jan Baptist Barchman Wuytiers (1665-1711). Elisabeth seems to have been widowed soon after her first marriage, subsequently marrying Jacques Elie de Maleprade (1693-1774).
