Davidson, "A Preliminary Consideration of Aboriginal Australian Decorative Art", Memoirs of the American Philosophical Society, Philadelphia, 1937, p. 36, fig. 22, for a very similar shield (height: 44 1/4 in; 112.5 cm) with closely related designs to both the front and back, identified as having come from De Grey in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
