Built in the thirty-seventh year of the Qianlong period (1772 CE) in the northeast of the Forbidden City, the Fuwangge (Belvedere of Viewing Achievements) was the tallest building in the Qianlong Emperor’s personal Palace of Tranquil Longevity (Ningshougong) and renowned for the beauty of its interior.
