Franco Albini initially designed the Stadera desk for Casa Caterina Marcenaro, Genova, Italy, in 1951, a special commission for the Director of the Belle Arti Office of Genova. Abini then designed a variation of the Stadera desk with a wood leg and an incorporated drawers cabinet for the American Altamira in 1953. Finally, the Stadera desk went into production with F.lli Poggi in 1961 with the model n. SC27. The design is based on the weighing scales of the same name in Italian language.
The lot is sold together with a certificate of expertise from the Fondazione Franco Albini
