SPALDING, SPALDING BASKETBALL
2005
Important American Collector
Sotheby’s is proud to present this Spalding basketball attributed to Paul Pierce on February 2, 2005, when the Boston Celtics played the New Jersey Nets.
Pierce finished with 28 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, 4 steals and 1 block. The Celtics beat the Nets, 110-89.
This ball is attributed to Pierces’ 5th career triple-double.
Drafted by the Boston Celtics with the 10th overall pick in the 1998 NBA Draft, Pierce quickly emerged as the face of the franchise. His scoring prowess, versatile skill set, and clutch performances earned him the nickname "The Truth." Paired with Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen, Pierce played a pivotal role in the Celtics' resurgence, leading the team to an NBA Championship in 2008. His Finals MVP performance solidified his status as one of the game's greats.
