The present pendant has descended from the Morozov, Krestovnikov and List families, patrons of the arts in Moscow, who carried it with them when fleeing Russia via Crimea in 1917-1918. The family eventually settled in Paris and subsequently brought this pendant with them to the United States in 1948, where it has been passed from generation to generation.
