Koshirae [mount]: Of later date, the polished black lacquer saya [scabbard], the associated mounts in shakudo and gilt, the fuchi-kashira [hilt-band and pommel] with a small bird beside field chrysanthemum (nogiku) and a swallow in flight above rockwork, reeds and swirling waters, the fuchi signed Masaharu, the menuki in the form of boats, the mokko-gata iron tsuba with a river scene of two figures in a boat beneath the fronds of a wisteria tree, the reverse with a lakeside hut.
