32mo (3 1/8 x 4 5/8 in.; 78 x 118 mm). Harper Half-Hour Series advertisements at the beginning (with only 79 titles listed), publisher's advertisements at end; minor toning. Full green cloth, upper cover stamped in black and red, lover cover with publisher's devise stamped in black, spine lettered in black; edges just rubbed. In custom quarter blue silk over marbled board clamshell case. 


First edition, first issue, with only 79 titles listed in the Harper Half-Hour Series advertisements at the beginning (Daisy Miller was No. 82)


Daisy Miller, which first appeared in Cornhill Magazine (June–July 1878) was met with instant success, and has remained of James's most popular works.  


A fine copy of one of the scarcest of all Henry James first editions
