Wallace depicted in 'Romaine' costume, the panel held in a molded brass frame with an applied silver plaque engraved 'Of an Oak of the Scottish Forest cut down by the Emperor Severus, dug out of Blair Drummond Moss about the middle of the Eighteenth Century'
