While the world time mechanism was invented by Louis Cottier in 1930, Patek Philippe was the first manufacture to have incorporated this complication in all watches. The present watch reference 5930 debuted in 2016 features both the world time and chronograph function and it was inspired by a unique piece from the firm's history during the 1940s.
