Svend Andersen co-founded the AHCI in 1985 with Vincent Calabrese. They first created the Jour et Nuit (day and night) for Cartier in 1998, as a limited edition Pasha wristwatch. With the Frederic Piguet cal. 15, a large, ultra-slim high pocket watch calibre as the base movement, the simple yet elegant Jour et Nuit display has since become one of Andersen’s signature complications.
The present Jour et Nuit indicates time on a 24 hour scale, distinguishing between day and night. Day time from 6 am to 6 pm is on the outer hour track, while night time is on the inner track, with the subsidiary seconds at six o’clock.
