Roy King was a pioneering British jeweller whose workshop became synonymous with sculptural goldwork and technically inventive design. Trained in Hatton Garden and later influenced by wartime engineering, he developed a distinctive modern style defined by textured surfaces and molten‑gold. From the 1950s he created jewellery‑watch hybrids that paired Swiss movements with his own innovative cases and bracelets, establishing a new category of wearable sculpture.
