The reference 1680 was introduced in the 1960s as part of Rolex's iconic Submariner collection. Its key distinguishing feature from earlier models, the 5513 and 5512, is the date display at 3 o’clock, along with the addition of a cyclops lens on the crystal. Powered by Rolex's self-winding mechanical movement cal. 1570, the 1680 stands as one of the most iconic designs of the 20th century.
This lot, from circa 1972, comes with a treasure trove of accessories that compliment the timepiece, including (but not limited to) its original packaging and service papers from 1992. A testament to the owner's fastidious care of their collectable.
