A pair of bronze candelabra of this model, now entirely gilt and based at least in part on designs by Percier and Fontaine, was supplied by Thomire to the Imperial Garde-Meuble in 1810 for the Empress Josephine's bedroom in the Tuileries Palace. Described as 'deux paires de femmes ailées partie et contrepartie représentant le Jour et la Nuit tenant d'une main une palme de l'autre une petite couronne après laquelle sont ajustés 5 branches et une au milieu les dites figures posées sur une boule laquelle porte sur un flacon qui est posé sur un peid rond tous les dits ornements en bronze doré', they were recorded in the Salon Rouge of the Tuileries in 1833 and transferred to the Invalides in 1849 (Marie-France Dupuy Baylet, L'Heure le Feu La Lumière. Les Bronzes du Mobilier National, Dijon 2010, no.118 p.215-16).
