Description

Veuve Clicquot, La Grande Dame 1990

u. 3x3.5, 9x4cm below foil, slightly scuffed labels and capsules, wine comes from different importers

Approximately 65% Pinot Noir. In 2020 and from magnum, this was disgorged in 2003. The most astounding breed and personality on the nose, with huge harmony and richness on the palate. Flavours of hazelnuts, finesse of texture and just such a noble, complete Champagne of great depth and length. A truly impressive wine and an absolute tribute to the legendary cellar master of that time, Jacques Peters. In 2021 and again from magnum, an intoxicating nose of honey and so rich and perfectly balanced on the palate, full, ripe and magnificent. Such length of flavour, with Fortuny silk texture plus real vinosity. Serena  Sutcliffe, MW
