Please note the leather strap derived from endangered species is for display purposes only and is not sold with the watch. The watch will be shipped with a Sotheby’s branded calf leather strap.

This reference was made in recognition of Shaquille O'Neal's memorable NBA career in a limited edition of 960 pieces and in two versions: in 18k white gold with a diamond-set bezel or (as the present one) in stainless steel with a brushed finish. The first 20 pieces were made especially for O'Neil himself and members of his entourage.

The watch has massive dimensions with a diameter of approximately 52 mm and some very special details. The case back of the watch is decorated with an engraving of O’Neil’s nickname ‘Shaq’ beneath him dunking a basketball. Furthermore on the dial the numbers 2 and 3 are swapped to pay tribute to the number O’Neil wore for most of his career, the 32. These hour markers have been colored in red as a contrast to the off-cream hour markers that are adorning the rest of the dial.

The watch remains in very good condition and comes with the Audemars Piguet guarantee, the instruction manual, a service invoice dated January 2013, its original and spectacular wooden presentation case in the form of a basketball and its outer packaging.
