In this dramatic scene depicting of one of the twenty-four paragons of filial piety, an enormous tiger is about to leap across a raging river to attack Yoko and his elderly father. However, Yoko puts himself between the tiger and his father, begging the tiger to attack him and spare his father. The tiger recognises the boy’s self-sacrifice and spares them both.
