A fragment of breccia quintilina

Breccia Quintillina, is a rare stone, also known as Breccia della villa Adriana (Corsi), which takes its name from Quintiliolo near Tivoli where a few unworked blocs of it were found, although it is probable that it originates from Levanto, in Liguria. It was highly prized from the late 16^th century due to its unusual yellow and red iridescent tones and therefore used in small quantities in valuable Roman pietre dure pieces.
