To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the celebrated Royal Oak, Audemars Piguet released a series of new pieces. These watches were highly anticipated and the demand was so high that it was nearly impossible to acquire them from the boutiques.
The new Royal Oak, which is exemplified by the present lot, is considered as one of the most beautiful creations of this highly exclusive series. Its grande tapisserie dial has a most delightful nuance of silver. Extremely difficult to capture, this beautiful colour changes depending on the light, ceaselessly providing pleasure and satisfaction to the wearer. Furthermore, the luminescent indexes and hands are made in white gold.
The 41mm diameter case elevates the original design to contemporary expectations while preserving the harmony of the masterpiece of Gerald Genta.
The watch is powered by the calibre 4302. This extremely high-quality movement is used in three hands and date timepieces of the current collection and offers 70 hours of power reserve.
