FIRST EDITION, 8vo (152 x 100mm.), engraved title, one double-page battle formation, 28 full-page maps and 2 full-page plates, colophon leaf at end, occasional manuscript additions, nineteenth-century vellum-backed boards, lacking 12pp. and 2 battle plans, small loss to title, battle plan slightly trimmed, minor staining, rubbed; sold not subject to return

RARE. The maps are almost exclusively of Mediterranean islands, particularly in the Aegean, and include Rhodes, Crete, Cyprus, Malta, Sicily, Elba, Corsica, Sardinia and Mallorca. The final map is of Britain.
