London: printed by John Darby, for the author, and are to be sold by Andrew Forrester, 1676, FIRST EDITION, engraved additional title and 8 plates (of 9), of which 5 folding, woodcut diagrams, contemporary calf, [ESTC R4473], lacking portrait and plate at p.119, upper cover detached, lower joint split

ii. A light to the art of gunnery. London: J.D. for W. Fisher and R. Mount, 1689, engraved portrait, additional title and 7 plates, 2 folding, one additional woodcut plate at A3 from Roberts' Compleat cannoniere (see lot 384), woodcut diagrams, nineteenth-century green half morocco, [ESTC R213063 (5 copies)], additional woodcut restored, one folding plate frayed with slight loss

one of these was purchased from Pickering & Chatto, 7 June 1899, £1-15s
