folio (302 x 190mm.), woodcut printer's device on title-page, 9 folding leaves with diagrams, large AD monogram added above errata, title-page laid down onto leaf h6 (containing device only, which now appears on title-page verso), b4 and d4 stained and repaired, first few leaves repaired at lower corner


First Latin edition, translated by Joachim Camerarius. Dürer and Specklin (see lot 424) wrote the only significant German works on fortification in the sixteenth century.
