The Memphis Grizzlies have been having a phenomenal season and are currently sitting at the number 2 seed in a stacked Western Conference largely due to the play of Jaren Jackson Jr. This is only the 2nd All-Star appearance for Jackson Jr. who is having a career season for the red hot Grizzlies.

Known for his defensive prowess, Jaren Jackson Jr. quickly established himself as one of the top freshmen in the country at Michigan State. An athletic center that can guard all five positions on the court, Jackson went on to win a host of awards and all Big Ten honors by the end of the 2017-18 college basketball season. At the end of his freshman year, Jackson won Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and Big Ten Freshman of the Year, and was named to the Big Ten’s All-Freshman Team and the All-Big Ten Third Team.

Jackson was drafted with the 4th pick in the 1st round of the 2018 NBA Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies. Now in his 6th season, Jackson has become the anchor of the Grizzlies defense and is considered among the elite defenders in the NBA. His work on the defensive end of the court led to him being named Defensive Player of the Year in 2023. Jackson led the league in blocks in 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons on his way to being named to All NBA Defensive 1st Team in each of those seasons. Jackson has grown his offensive game as well, averaging career highs in points and assists this season. Jaren Jackson Jr. is part of a formidable trio alongside Ja Morant and Desmond Bane as the Grizzlies look to keep making noise in the Western Conference.

During the 2024-25 season, Jackson has career high averages of 18.4 points per game, 6.1 rebounds per game, and 2.2 assists per game. Jackson is also a 2-time NBA All-Star.
